It is important for us to be open about our beliefs and as Christians, we encourage any interested party to read the "What we believe" section below.

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Peter 1:21). We believe in the complete Bible as it was written in the original manuscripts. We believe the Bible to be without error. The Word of God is God's direct revelation to us and is therefore the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. We must believe and obey the teachings of the Bible. We believe that all Scripture centres round the Lord Jesus Christ and leads us to a saving knowledge of Him (John 5:39).

The Holy Trinity

We believe that the one true and living God is personal and unchangeable, yet beyond our comprehension. God is unbounded by space or time and is merciful, loving, perfectly wise and good, almighty, just, infinite and gracious (1 Timothy 1:17). Although one in essence, He is revealed to us as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God the Father

God created the heavens and earth and all they contain, including man. God created man after His own image. God, as Father, upholds and governs His creation with providential care (Gen 1:1). He adopts us to be His own children when we come to Him through Jesus Christ (Romans 8:14-15).

God the Son

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God (John 1:1-2) and was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:34). Because man fell into sin and is lost, God determined that sinners may receive forgiveness and eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17). In order to redeem sinful man, Jesus, who lived a sinless life, gave Himself to die on the cross, bearing the sins of all those who trust in Him for salvation (Romans 8:3-4). He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He sits on the right hand of His Father, interceding on behalf of those who believe in Him (John 3:18).

God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is not a vague, impersonal force, but is equal in every way with God the Father and God the Son. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgement (John 16:8). When a person is born again by believing in and receiving Jesus Christ, that person, previously spiritually dead, gets new life and is permanently indwelt by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-8 and 1 Cor 12:12-13). The Holy Spirit acts as the teacher of believers (1 Cor 2:10-12), revealing God's will and His truth to them (John 14:26 and John 16:13); assures them that they are God's children (Rom 8:16), gives hope (Romans 15:13) and strengthens (Eph 3:16). The Holy Spirit also bestows spiritual gifts upon God's children (1 Cor 12:7-11), equipping them to do the work they have been called to do for God's Kingdom and fill the lives of those who have yielded to Him with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These are the fruits the Holy Spirit produces in our lives when we do not fulfil the lust of the flesh but live by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is through God alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us: “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no-one should boast.”

People are saved and forgiven if they confess their sins and confess their belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as promised in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Discipleship

In calling all believers to discipleship, Jesus Christ commisioned us to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ, we must committ ourselves to this task by obeying His calling, following His instruction and teaching and living our lives under His leadership (Colossians 3:1-17).
We believe that our worship, relationships, ministries, work, education and recreation must be subject to the ordinances of God, and for His glory. “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
